Go Kart Frames
Go-kart frames are also known as chassis. Different levels
of stiffness will be preferred for different conditions. For instance,
in wet areas or those with poor traction for other reasons, a more flexible
design is preferred. In dry areas, stiffer designs are more preferable.
Steel tubing is used to create go-kart frames. No unique components
operate as the suspension system for carts. For that reason, the chassis
must be flexible enough to work as the suspension. At the same time,
it must also be stiff enough to not give or break as the vehicle turns.
Go-kart frames are often considered desirable when they have room for
optimization. For instance, stiffening bars may be added to different
areas of the chassis including front, rear, and side. The ability to
make adjustments such as this allows a rider to be better prepared according
to the race conditions of a particular event.
