Go Kart Track
Go-kart tracks exist as scaled down circuits. In general,
their lengths average out at about 1,100 to 1,200 meters. Any outdoor
circuit which runs less than 1,500 meters in length will generally be
defined as a short circuit.
These short go-kart tracks will have a width of about seven to nine
meters. In general, they will be custom built for the practice of karting.
Left and right turns will be included in their design. They pretty much
resemble road courses. Sprint racing can be done for both gearbox and
non-gearbox karts.
Indoor go-kart tracks are generally intended for use by casual drivers.
The closed area may be an old factory. It is not uncommon for outdoor
segments to be included as part of the circuit to add interest. Often,
owners of such a track will provide their own fleet of cars for visitors
to use.
